Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) residential*

HVAC* systems are constantly running and are always going to need maintenance and repair. The U.S. Bureau of Labor predicts the HVAC* industry to add 19,000 new installer and technician jobs by 2030.** This heating, ventilation, air conditioning residential program offers training in all phases of repair and maintenance of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, systems. The HVAC technician program also includes the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certifications in the management of refrigerants and North American Technicians Excellence (NATE) Certifications. What you’ll learn in the HVAC Technician training courses:
  • Residential Air Conditioning and Heating Systems
  • Principles of Electrical Circuits
  • HVAC/R Computer Fundamentals
  • Low Voltage Controls and Thermostats
  • Customer Service and Safety
A school externship is a part of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning residential training program and assigns a student to a partnering company for 135 hours, giving the student the opportunity to put his/her new skills to use and gain real-life career training experience. Plus, after you graduate college, our Lifetime Career Placement Support program will be there to help you find work whenever you need it. This HVAC program is approved for VA Benefits. This program is currently offered at the Pasadena, TX and Newport, KY.

RESIDENTIAL HVAC SYSTEMS

The Maintenance and Repair of HVAC systems

The HVAC program offers classroom theory as well as hands-on experience with applied technician HVAC courses. Training focuses on heating, ventilation and air conditioning maintenance and repair. Further courses teach refrigeration management, electrical circuits, HVAC/R computer fundamentals, and customer service and safety. After graduation from this program, college students will be prepared for entry-level apprenticeships.

HVAC CERTIFICATION

Prepare for Certification in EPA 608 and NATE

This HVAC program also prepares college students for the EPA 608 and NATE certification exams. The EPA certification ensures students are properly trained to handle refrigerants whereas the NATE certification recognizes the graduate’s capabilities in the HVAC profession. Employers look for both certifications as supplements to a completed HVAC training program.
